As president and founder of Great Destinotions, Eric Swartz has 30 years of experience as a marketer, business communicator, and branding strategist. Since 1996, he has served as president of The Byline Group, a full-service branding and communications agency, of which Tagline Guru and Great Destinotions are divisions.
Eric has created branding concepts and campaigns for more than 300 clients, including destinations and DMOs such as the Tri-Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau (Pleasanton, CA); Longview Partnership (Longview, Texas); the City of Marathon, Florida; the Alabama Housing Finance Authority (Montgomery, AL); The Mexican-Caribbean Golf Course Association (Cancun, Mexico); and Hotel Casantica (Oaxaca, Mexico), as well as American Express, Apple, FedEx, and Wells Fargo.
Prior to forming The Byline Group, Eric served in senior marketing and communications management positions at The Thomson Corporation, Ziff Communications, SPRINT, and Pacific Cable, where he created and produced the television series, TravelTime. The recipient of a writing award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, Eric has been published by the Business Marketing Association, the American Marketing Association, and the International Association of Business Communicators, and has been featured in BusinessWeek.com, Meetings & Conventions Magazine, and Marketing Magazine. Eric received his A.B. in Communication & Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley, and his M.A. in Communications from The Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, where he taught film theory and history.
